- A week in Siem Reap - Cambodia
In northwestern Cambodia, Siem Reap is renowned as the gateway to the mystical ruins of Angkor, the heart of the ancient Khmer kingdom from the 9th to the 15th centuries. This town is a fusion of historic grandeur and contemporary charm, offering visitors an experience that is both culturally rich and deeply relaxing. A week in Siem Reap is ideally begun with the exploration of the Angkor Archaeological Park. As you traverse the ancient stone corridors and witness the sunrise over the majestic temples, the omnipresent enigma of the past is undeniable. The park, peppered with over a thousand temples, is home to the great Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm—where nature and ruins entwine—and the many-faced Bayon Temple. Each ruin tells a tale of a civilization both advanced and mystic, urging a deeper comprehension of Cambodian culture. Siem Reap extends beyond historical landmarks, offering an opportunity to immerse oneself in contemporary Cambodian living. The local markets, such as Psar Chaa, are buzzing with life, where artisans’ crafts, textiles, and street food provide a sensory feast. We recommend that you support local businesses and contribute to the community by engaging with B1G1 Worthy Causes , a global initiative supporting sustainable, high-impact projects. Spending a week in Siem Reap is a journey through time where ancient and modern worlds collide. It's a city that captivates and enthrals, leaving visitors with a profound appreciation for its history, culture, and indomitable spirit.
- Nha Trang Private Car - Nha Trang
Nha Trang Private Car #NhaTrang #Vietnam We needed a private car to transfer us from Nha Trang to Quy Nhon and were very impressed with this company. The customer service experience with Anna was fabulous and the easy to pay online by credit card was excellent. We initially booked the transfer for a set date and had to postpone last minute due to a medical emergency. Anna was excellent and very understanding of our situation and was flexible as we kept adjusting the date. Thank you, Anna. When we were ready to depart the driver was early and drove us very safely to Quy Nhon which took about four hours with a quick toilet stop halfway. The car was as promised, air-conditioned, clean and safe. Recommend for transfers in Vietnam at an affordable price.
- Nähatelier & Waschsalon Doli - Zermatt
Nähatelier & Waschsalon Doli We stayed in Zermatt after travelling for a few months and required laundry without paying hotel prices. We found this local laundry around the corner, and she was lovely. She took a whole bag of laundry, ready for the same day for pickup. We got charged for one bag of around 20 Francs for about 2 kilos, which was better than paying by piece at the hotel. We were delighted with the quality of our clean clothes and the service we received.
- Weekend in Munich - Germany
So many places to write about; however, here is a sneak peek of what is to come!
- Zurich - Switzerland
The city of Zurich, a global centre for banking and finance, lies at the north end of Lake Zurich in northern Switzerland. The picturesque lanes of the central Altstadt (Old Town), on either side of the Limmat River, reflect its pre-medieval history. Waterfront promenades like the Limmatquai follow the river toward the 17th-century Rathaus (town hall).
- Angkor Thom - Siem Reap
You're cruising along in a tuk-tuk, the warm Cambodian air tousling your hair, the anticipation building up. And then, you see the majestic South Gate of Angkor Thom, with its stone faces towering over you, greeting you with serene smiles that have withstood the ebbs and flows of time. It's one of those moments where you have to pinch yourself. Yep, Sal did precisely that, right on my arm! Stepping into Angkor Thom is like walking into a different era. This was the last capital of the great Khmer Empire, and guys, the vibe is otherworldly. The centrepiece? With its 216 giant faces etched into stone towers, the enigmatic Bayon Temple is gazing down at you with an air of mystery. Wandering through the ruins, we couldn't help but marvel at the sheer ingenuity of the Khmer architects. Every corner tells a story, and every ancient stone slab is a page from history.
